where to begin? The middle of the story? Our protagonist nears his 39th birthday. Bad relationship, bad health, bad job, and an unfavorable outlook on life, only getting worse. He’s given up drink, smoke, sex, and displaced it with junk food, stress, acupuncture, arguments, surfing, and cable television. What more could a person ask for?
